Emma Raducanu, the reigning US Open champion is currently ranked at No. 10 by WTA which is also the highest ranking reached by her. She is the current British No. 1. Raducanu is the first British woman to win a Grand Slam singles title at the US Open champion since Virginia Wade won in the 1977 Wimbledon Championships. Raducanu has only one title to her name which is the 2021 US Open title which does not do justice to the qualities the player posses.
Emma is set to take part in US Open 2022 which will begin in late August. The Briton won the prestigious hard court title in 2021, defeating Leylah Fernandez in the final, 6-4, 6-3. she also rolled through the tournament without dropping a single set. It was a strong display by the 18-year-old from Great Britain, who was not expected to win a Grand Slam title in this little period in her professional tennis career.

Emma Raducanu faces harsh criticism on Twitter from fans for supporting Nick Kyrgios
Shortly after Nick Kyrgios reached his maiden Grand Slam semi-final with a three-set win over Cristian Garin, the 19-year-old Raducanu tweeted “NK” with a magician emoji. To which the Australian replied with an “Appreciate the support!” tweet, but Raducanu’s decision to support this year’s Wimbledon runner-up didn’t go down well.
Kyrgios is not only known for his game and on-court behavior but also his off-court antics as he had been summoned by Canberra court to appear in hearings over common assault charges relating to a case involving his ex-girlfriend. He was also described as “a bully” by Stefanos Tsitsipas following their heated third-round clash at the Wimbledon championship this season.
In an interview with the Evening Standard, the Brit said, “To me, he’s always been very kind and generous. He was supporting me after Wimbledon last year, before the US Open, so the way he’s been with me, yeah, he’s been really nice. People definitely want to watch Nick.”
