Ons Jabeur has stormed into the Quarterfinals of the Stuttgart Open where she might take on her Wimbledon 2022 Finals fall, Elena Rybakina. Jabuer’s opponent will be decided after the match between Kazakh Elena Rybakina vs Brazil’s Beatriz Haddad Maia in the round of 16 at the Stuttgart Open tonight. Jabeur defeated Ons defeated Elena Ostapenko in a thriller 3 setter in the round of 16. Ons came back from a set down to defeat the Latvian player with a score of 1-6, 7-5, 6-3.

In the post-match discussions, the interviewer asked Ons Jabuer if she was looking forward to playing against Haddad Maia or wants a rematch of the Wimbledon finals with Elena. Ons in her usual cheeky manner said “Oh, man, Wimbledon final on clay (smiling).” Praising Rybakina’s talent on the court Jabeur said, “You know, I watched a little bit of her playing today. Definitely is going to be a difficult match”. Then addressing her desire to win Jabeur added “Yeah, if it’s Elena, I’m definitely going for my revenge. I will have more time this time on this court. But definitely a lot of respect for her.

Not missing the fact that her Quarterfinal opponent could be Beatriz Jabeur said “But If it’s Maia, you know, she’s an amazing player. She plays great against top players.” Being her humorous self again Ons said she hopes either one of them should She said “Let’s hope they play five hours and fight and both tired (smiling).”

Ons Jabeur and Elena Rybakina have met on the court 4 times. They both hold a 50-50 record against each other. Once a match was abandoned as Rybakina retired. But all the other 3 times the two have had intense 3 set battles. Recalling the Wimbledon 2022 final, Ons Jabeur was leading the match with an easy first-set victory of 6-3. But to the amaze of all viewers and Ons Jabeur, Rybakina shifted gears and won the next 2 sets easily with a score of 2-6, 2-6.
