‘Out of the World’ Fans left in awe as Iga Swiatek wins a 4th consecutive WTA title beating Aryna Sabalenka in Stuttgart

Iga Swiatek continues her dream run this season and wins her 4th consecutive WTA title in Stuttgart. The World No.1 defeated Aryna Sabalenka in a one-sided final in straight sets 6-2,6-2 to start her clay-court season on a high note. The Pole was riding on a 22-match winning streak which she extended to 23 after her title triumph.

With this win, she also extended her lead as the World No.1 to more than 2000 points. In the match, Swiatek looked ever so comfortable right from the very start. She was dominant on serve and was taking her chances to perfection. Sabalenka was left a sitting duck at times due to Swiatek’s incredible shot-making and movement. With a double break’s lead, she took the opening set 6-2.

Swiatek carried the momentum into the second set and served flawlessly. The Belarussian, despite creating chances couldn’t capitalize it due to Swiatek’s defense and eventually got broken. With a couple of break’s ahead, she soon wrapped up the set 6-2 to win the title.

In doing so, she equaled Naomi Osaka’s record of 23-consecutive victories and will look to target Serena Williams‘ mighty record in this clay season. She will now have a few days off before yet another WTA 1000 tournament in Madrid.
