Former American tennis player, Pam Shriver lauds the world No.1, Iga Swiatek on her exceptional run of form in recent times. The Polish player had a very bad Australian Open to her standards as she lost in the fourth round to Elena Rybakina. However, she later went on to win the Qatar Open in a record-breaking style. She became the first female player to lose just five games in the entire tournament before winning it.
She further continued her form in the ongoing Dubai Tennis Championships and won her first round pretty comfortably. In the Round of 32 of the tournament, she defeated 2021 US Open runner-up Leylah Fernandez by an overwhelming margin, dropping only two games en route to a resounding 6-1, 6-1 victory.
The 22-time Grand Slam doubles champion was deeply impressed by Iga Swiatek’s magnificent victory and exceptional form. Shriver went on to compare Swiatek’s level of dominance to that of some of the all-time greats such as Martina Navratilova, Steffi Graf, Serena Williams, and Monica Seles during their respective peak years.
She took to Twitter and tweeted by saying “Wow Iga’s level is next level atm hardly dropping games vs tough opponents. It’s reminiscent of the most dominant play by Navratilova, Graf, Seles and Serena.” Many other experts were also in awe of the Polish player’s form and praised her game. The 21-year-old achieved her fourth consecutive straight-sets victory, with the previous three being obtained during her successful title defense at the Qatar Open.

She put on a dominant performance throughout the tournament, dropping just five games en route to securing her second consecutive Doha title on Saturday.
Her impressive form serves as a testament to her exceptional skills and talent on the court, cementing her status as one of the most formidable and consistent players on the women’s tour today.
