Patrick Mouratoglou looking forward to Naomi Osaka starting a rivalry with Coco Gauff, praises the teen for bringing more fans

Famous tennis coach Patrick Mouratoglou recently praised Coco Gauff in an interview following her victory in the 2023 US Open. Talking about the youngster’s sensational achievement, he said that Coco was destined for greatness and that she deserved a Grand Slam, which she now has. However, he also mentioned that, with Naomi Osaka arriving soon, he is looking forward to seeing great competition between the two.
“I think she (Coco Gauff) is a star. To fully be a star, she needed to be a Grand Slam champion, and now she is. I think she can win many more. And she is definitely so exciting to watch. She has so much charisma, energy, and positivity. I think she has everything to become a big star and bring people to come and watch WTA. I’m very happy that Naomi Osaka is coming back next year. Coco Gauff did the unthinkable by defeating Aryna Sabalenka in the final of the 2023 US Open. She emerged victorious in the match despite being set down against the current World No. 1. What she did in the next two rounds will be remembered for ages, as it was sheer domination by the nineteen-year-old, and that too against a player of that caliber.
The youngster finally won her first Grand Slam at the age of nineteen, and with that, she has climbed up to the WTA rank of World No. 3. With the form she is currently in, Coco can easily be said to be one of the best women’s players in the world right now, and she surely has a great future ahead.
Coco Gauff and Naomi Osaka share a good relationship
Despite facing each other in a number of very heated matches, Coco Gauff and Naomi Osaka share a very good and friendly relationship. Despite swearing allegiance to Japan, Naomi Osaka has lived most of her life in the USA. In a 2020 interview, Naomi Osaka said that although she has friendly relations with Coco Gauff, she prefers to keep no friends on tour to focus on her game.
