French tennis coach and sports commentator Patrick Mouratoglou reveals insights on the tennis of Jannik Sinner. Recently, Italian tennis star Jannik Sinner has been playing exceptionally well in the latter part of the 2023 season, and this has impressed many tennis enthusiasts and coaches like Mouratoglou.

Now, the French coach believes that the Italian is the next big thing and is following in Novak Djokovic’s path from 2011. Back in 2011, the Serbian had won innumerable tournaments, beating the then-prime Nadal and Federer multiple times, even on their home turf.

What he did at Davis Cup winning for his country, being the guy that brought all the points. I think it's an incredible boost of confidence for the next year and 2011 was the year of Novak and that's the year he won most of everything, beat Rafa I don't know how many times, even on clay several times, so that was his year and I think it can be the year of Jannik.
Said the coach on his youtube channel

After the Davis Cup in 2011, Djokovic played some of the best tennis anyone has seen. He managed a 41-win streak and ended the year with one of his best records against both Rafael Nadal and Roger Federer, 10-1.

Can Sinner follow the path of the Serb and manage a phenomenal 2024 season? All the answers lie in the next season, which features returning players like Rafael Nadal, Nick Kyrgios, and more.

Patrick Mouratoglou believes Novak Djokovic has an edge over Sinner in the 2024 season

The 2024 season is about to commence and young players like Carlos Alcaraz, Jannik Sinner, and Holger Rune are some of the players to watch out for Coach Patrick Mouratoglou also agrees with that and backs Jannik Sinner to end the season as No. 2.

I think Novak still has an edge but I think he can play incredible this year now that he is drop-shotting much more, he is coming to the net much more with efficiency, so now I think he is ready to do many more things, and to adapt to a lot of more situations and I think that's one of the main reasons why Jannik can be the number two at the end of the season

After winning the Vienna Open, Sinner gained immense momentum and carried that to the ATP Finals, where he was unbeaten until the finals, where he lost to Djokovic.

However, the 22-year-old came back before the end of the season and won against the Serb twice in a day to seal the year on a high note. That dominance gave the French coach confidence that Sinner would finish high next year.
