Spanish tennis player Paula Badosa and her boyfriend, World No. 5, Stefanos Tsitsipas, are one of the few tennis couples who have been in the limelight quite a lot recently. Former tennis pro and Wimbledon winner, Conchita Martinez, gave her insight on how she sees the relationship between the two.
The couple have been dating since May of this year and officially announced this during Wimbledon. The two regularly post pictures of each other on their social media handles. Along with the huge amount of support the couple receives online for their relationship, their posts also garner a lot of criticism.
Recently, Spanish legend Conchita Martinez was asked if she sees the young Spaniard Paula Badosa’s relationship with the Greek top seed as positive or negative for her career, or if it’s neither.
Martinez replied simply that the outcome depends on how the two handle the relationship. “It can be very positive, because it seems that love is there and love is good. They both understand perfectly what they have to do to be up there and can push each other to get the best out of themselves,” she answered.
Commenting on the couple’s dream to win a Grand Slam together, Martinez said, “Well, you have to go put on the overalls (be willing to work) and try to pursue your dreams. They have to work hard. Love well carried out does not have to be negative,” she added.
