World No. 5, Stefanos Tsitsipas, will be eyeing a solid campaign at Wimbledon this time around. However, he had already made the headlines before his first match. In a pre-tournament interview, the Greek once again confessed his love for Barbie actress Margot Robbie, as he has done so many times before.
Wimbledon has been doing this drill of having fun interviews with players before the tournament starts for years. In his interview, Stefanos Tsitsipas was asked a question about whom he would take on his mixed doubles team for a tennis match. However, the trick here was that he wasn’t allowed to name any tennis players but had to name some from any other profession.
The Greek was quick to answer and said, Margot Robbie. He justifies his answer by also mentioning that his girlfriend, Paula Badosa, also approves of her and is a big fan. As expected, the video instantly went viral, eliciting a plethora of reactions online. However, there was something else that made the fans even more excited.
It was Paula Badosa’s response to the tweet. She wrote, “Oh yeah! I totally support this.”
Tsitsipas and his love for the Barbie actress
This is not the first time Greek ace Stefanos Tsitsipas has confessed his admiration for Barbie actress Margot Robbie. This year at the Australian Open, he was seen mentioning her name on a couple of occasions. The first one was when, in his courtside post-match interview, he said that he would like it if the local actress Robbie would come and watch him play.
The second time he mentioned it was just before his final against Novak Djokovic. However, his statement then was exactly the opposite of the previous one. As per the Greek tennis prodigy himself, he loved the actress but wouldn’t want to get distracted by her presence and would rather focus on the final. In the bigger picture, the Greek Superstar is a die-hard fan of the actress, and to his luck, her girlfriend too is a big fan.
