Tennis legend Martina Navratilova is quite active in tennis circles despite her retirement. A tennis great without a doubt, the former World No. 1 not only does speak about the world of tennis but also expresses her opinions on other affairs of the globe.
Navratilova has however been found on multiple occasions speaking against 21-time major winner Novak Djokovic. With the Serb always in the middle of unwarranted controversies, his stance on vaccination has pitted Navratilova against him who does not miss a chance to critique the Serb.
However, following the events in Astana, Navratilova put out a tweet in favour of Djokovic. The Serb received a walkover from Daniil Medvedev prior to the start of the all-to-play third set and coming fresh from a crunch tiebreaker win, Djokovic was disappointed over the anti-climatic end.
“Novak Djokovic just showed what a fierce competitor he truly is- lost the first set to Medvedev, won the second set 8-6 in the TB and then Medvedev, out of nowhere, defaults. And it was clear Novak was disappointed as he was in for a fight. He wanted to play:), #classact,” tweeted Navratilova.

Navratilova and Djokovic have found themselves on opposite ends mainly due to the Serb’s insistence on not taking the vaccine for Covid-19. Despite missing two Grand Slam titles where he would have been the favourite, Djokovic remained firm in his ideals and personal decision to protect his body.
Navratilova has however been a strong supporter of taking the jab and has expressed her disappointment in Djokovic on multiple occasions as he is a global icon and can persuade millions. With Djokovic fans finding ways to mock the American, her latest tweet presented them another opportunity to troll the former World No. 1.
Navratilova is often quick to respond to criticism on Twitter but this time, she has decided to not interact with the trolls. While it could be a wise decision, for Djokovic fans, it was just an opportunity to criticise the American who had been harsh with their favourite player over the past few months.
