Daniil Medvedev is one of the most promising tennis players on the tennis circuit. He is also one of the emerging ‘tennis superstars’ of male tennis. He has with his performances in recent years won many tournaments and the hearts of tennis fans. But the Russian sports other talents as well.

Daniil Medvedev and Andrey Rublev are two top-seed Russian tennis players. Both have through their exploits brought laurels for their country. The two were also part of the Davis Cup 2021 winning team.

Both players are also ranked one after another in the ATP singles rankings in 2022. Daniil Medvedev is senior and ranked slightly above at No.7 while Rublev is ranked No.8. Both are great friends and have worked hard up the ladder of professional tennis together.

Daniil Medvedev dominates the head-to-head record against Andrey Rublev. He won 4 times against his friend in the last four seasons. However, Andrey Rublev had the last laugh this season when he defeated Medvedev 6-7, 6-3, 7-6 in the 2022 ATP Finals in Turin, Italy.

However, this year has been tough for all the Russian and Belarusian athletes. As a result of the Ukraine-Russia war, they could not play in Wimbledon and other ATP tournaments. However, they both handled the situation gracefully.

Both the Russian players will have enough chances to play against each other in the 2023 season. Meanwhile, they can enjoy their off-season and can joke around with each other. The expectations are high from the tennis fans for both the Russian players as both of them start their 2023 season. Daniil Medvedev won his first Grand Slam of his career in 2021, i.e., the US Open title. Andrey Rublev is still chasing his first Grand Slam title.
