The founder of the PTPA (Professional Tennis Player’s Association) Vasek Pospisil is the latest to join the attack against the ATP. Many players have already raised a complaint with the ATP regarding the very poor scheduling of matches at the Paris Masters.

Earlier, one of the top-seeded players, Casper Ruud, also criticized the ATP for scheduling back-to-back matches and expressed his concern for the poor management of the match timings. Jannik Sinner also was one of the few who opposed the ATP on social media.

Pospisil is the latest one to question the ATP over the match schedule at the Paris Masters. He took to social media to express his disagreement with the ATP and narrated a similar event from his own personal experience. Pospisil added to Ruud’s post,

The ATP Tour has never cared about the players. In 2018 I finished a 3h battle at 12:45am & was scheduled to play at 1pm next day. Not joking. All they could say was “this is within the rules”. The next day I herniated my disc after 4 games, had surgery and was out for 9 months.

Vasek Pospisil’s tweet came soon after Casper Ruud posted a message saying how the ATP could give one of the top players only about 14 hours of rest between two games. He heavily criticized the ATP and fans all over agreed with him and the others who spoke up against the ATP.

Jannik Sinner forced to retire after not being given enough rest before his round of 16 clash at the Paris Masters

In a shocking turn of events, Jannik Sinner was forced to hand a walkover to his round of 16 opponent, Alex de Minaur, due to fatigue and tiredness. Sinner had just played a 3-set thriller late at night only 14 hours before his next match.

It was expected that adequate time would be provided for Sinner to play his round of 16 match but that was not the case.

Tennis fans and players like Casper Ruud and PTPA founder, Vasek Pospisil, also targeted the ATP for extremely poor scheduling of matches and not providing the top players a comfortable environment to play the sport in. Ruud even went as far as to call ATP’s management as a “joke”.
