World No. 2 Ons Jabeur continues to win the hearts of fans and tennis enthusiasts. Having made two Grand Slam finals appearances already, the Tunisian has made a quick rise to the 2nd spot on the rankings with only the unmatchable dominance of Iga Swiatek keeping her behind.

Jabeur is currently playing at the 2022 Tunisia Open and the local girl is undoubtedly the favourite at the tournament. Jabeur however became the talk of the town once again and it was not because of something she did on the court but off the court.

With Jabeur’s rising popularity, she is approached by many shows and reporters for interviews. Jabeur however reportedly denied answering the questions for a journalist whose show was sponsored by a betting organisation, something that goes against her religious beliefs.

With Jabeur a devoted Muslim, betting goes against the religion and the Tunisian is a strong-willed person when it comes to her belief and religion. Jabeur’s ideals and firmness in her belief were then appreciated by Twitter users who then applauded the World No. 2.

Jabeur has been often talked about breaking stereotypes coming from a small country like Tunisia and rising to the top of the game. Seeing Jabeur‘s example, tennis in Tunisia is said to be growing and even across the world, the Tunisian is seen as a big inspiration figure.
