8th seed Reilly Opelka starts off against Alex de Minaur with the winner to take on the victorious player between the all-Spanish clash of Albert Ramos-Vinolas and Alejandro Davidovich Fokina. Botic Van de Zandschulp starts against a qualifier and is likely to take on 3rd seed Cameron Norrie who has a tough start against Grigor Dimitrov.

2nd seed and defending champion Matteo Berrettini starts against local favourite Dan Evans with the winner set to take on either record 5-time champion Andy Murray or Italy’s Lorenzo Sonego. 3-time major winner Stan Wawrinka and Frances Tiafoe will battle in the first round while Tommy Paul begins against 6th seed Denis Shapovalov who is winless in his last 4 matches.

Semifinals

Taylor Fritz
Taylor Fritz

This could turn out to be the first grass meeting between Fritz and Schwartzman with the two having met on clay, outdoor and indoor hardcourts earlier. Fritz is better suited for the surface as compared to Diego but a surprise could be on the way given Fritz’s inconsistency.

Norrie could be looking for revenge from Berrettini for last year’s finals where the Italian came on top. However, Berrettini could be tired as he has a tricky path to the clash with Norrie who has a relatively easier way to make it to the semis. A fiery clash can be expected between the two in which Matteo might just edge ahead towards the finals.

Queen’s Club Final: Taylor Fritz vs Matteo Berrettini

Final

Matteo Berrettini

Berrettini has the best chance to record his first win against Fritz who currently leads him 2-0 in the head-to-head. Matteo will be coming from a finals appearance in Stuttgart and given his situation where he is set to lose massive points this month, he would be extra motivated to retain his title and unless Fritz is on his A-game, it’s a successful title defence for the Italian.
