Of course, I have thought many times that it did not make sense to continue playing, that in the end. There have been many years, many things, many hours of work in which I did not see the result.
Said the 22-time Grand Slam champion on his Instagram.

Continuing further, he added:

But I still think what I said in the last press conference that I do not deserve to end my sports career in a press room. I would like to finish in a different way, and I fought and kept the illusion for that to happen.

The 37-year-old has 22 Grand Slams and 92 ATP titles to his name. He also has the best records for win streaks in the open era where he has incredible records against all the players. He even ended most of the years as number 1 in the 2010 decade.

The King of Clay said:

l think everyone helped me decisively to be where I am today, which is with the option of returning to compete, and I think that also the desire of people, who want to watch me play again has also had and important impact on my day to day. It is a reality that there are many chances that it will be my last year, without any doubt.

He further added:

There are chances that it may be only half a year, there are chances that it may be a full year. There are possibilities that we may not be able to reach all that… These are things that right now I do not have the capacity to be able to answer.

Furthermore, Nadal has also spoken about experiencing the feeling of joy and how he enjoys being on the court after 12 months. He also added the possibility of resurfacing on the topic of retirement if his body does not cooperate but as of now, he is glad of what he has achieved so far and wants to give that journey a proper ending. With an unclear road ahead of him, the Spaniard is only glad to be playing tennis at the highest level even if it was for one last year. Fans can witness the legend of the game back on court for a possible last season.
