Rafael Nadal has been struggling and it has been clear to the entire tennis world from the visuals that showed him limping in his hard-fought defeat 6-1 5-7 2-6 against Canadian Denis Shapovalov. The defeat was disappointing for the fans. However, what worried the fans was his presence at the French Open as it was not sure if the Spaniard would be able to take part in the red dirt.

The 35-year-old, however, wasn’t ready to give up hopes of winning the 14th French Open as he said, “I am going to keep dreaming about that [ Roland Garros]”. The post-match interview, though, didn’t clarify the fact that he is 100% fit to participate in the tournament. It kept his fans wondering about the same.

“See you on Wednesday, Paris,” Nadal wrote in his Instagram caption to clear all the air about his participation in the French Open. He has started practising at the Rafael Nadal Tennis academy as he plays for the 14th French Open Title. He is all pumped for the tournament yet he isn’t the favourite. There are a lot of hurdles between him and the 14th title, injury being the biggest.

Rafael Nadal too accepted the fact that he was struggling due to injury as he said, “I am not injured, I am a player living with an injury… is nothing new”. Therefore, in such circumstances, it would be interesting to see who wins the title.
