Rafael Nadal back on court as he gears up for the second installment of his 2024 comeback!
The 22-time Grand Slam title winner is set to return to the Tour in a fortnight having missed the Australian Open.

The 2024 season for Rafael Nadal got off to an unexpected start. The Spaniard played only two events in 2023. He injured his hip during his second-round defeat at the 2023 Australian Open. As a result of the injury, he had to eventually end his entire season.
Nadal had planned for multiple comeback events but could not get ready for either of them. He eventually ended his season after failing to be fit for the 2023 US Open. Concerns over his retirement were raised multiple times but he denied them despite having considered it himself.
He confirmed his return for the 2024 season hinting it to be potentially his farewell season. He returned to action at the ATP-250 event in Brisbane. He won the first two matches to reach the quarter-finals but failed to beat Jordan Thompson losing in three sets despite having three match points.
Rafa suffered mid-match injury troubles and it eventually turned out to be serious. As a result, he had to fly back to Spain skipping the 2024 Australian Open. The decision was essential for him to try to be fit for the clay season where the King of Clay will look to make the most of his expertise to win silverware.
With fans awaiting some injury update from him, the 22-time Grand Slam title winner gave one today. Taking to his Instagram, he posted a photo from his training.

Rafael Nadal’s second attempt at a comeback starts in 2 weeks
The former World No. 1 will soon return to action on the ATP Tour. Following his return to Spain, he spent some time in rehabilitation. At his Academy, he also hosted Roger Federer during the Grand Slam happening Down Under leaving fans crazy.
Nadal will return to competitive action again at the upcoming 2024 Qatar Open in Doha. The Spaniard is a former champion at the event having won the ATP-250 event back in 2014. It’s unlikely he will switch to claycourts before the Golden Swing commences fully.
Apart from the post, he also posted a small montage of his training showing his wide range of shots further assuring his fans.
The hardcourt event in Doha is likely preparation for the Sunshine Double in the USA although Nadal is yet to confirm his presence there.
