According to John McEnroe, Rafael Nadal still has the chance of making it to Wimbledon and even lifting the trophy after 12 years of waiting. The Spaniard has already won two of the four grand slams in 2022 and could be looking of winning the third won as well.
However, after lifting the 14th French Open title of his career Nadal talked about the very real possibility of him being not that regular on the tour because of his age and even the chances of retiring from the game.
Even though Nadal looks in great shape and forms it is just a matter of time before one of the greatest of all times will say goodbye to the game. Nevertheless, his promising performances in the last two games make us believe that the former world No.1 isn’t going anywhere.
John McEnroe who has also been a phenomenal tennis player himself believes that Nadal has a real chance of not only making it to Wimbledon but winning the tournament as well. He is confident that in the form Nadal is in right now the surface will hardly play a role in changing his game.

His promising performances have left a tennis legend like John McEnroe believing that he could win yet another grand slam and that too on grass. “Most of us thought that Novak Djokovic would be the one to turn the scales in his favor when it comes to the number of Grand Slams, but there was this terrible debacle in Australia, where the Serb was banned from playing. I don’t think Novak expected that either. that Rafa will win the Australian Open Djokovic’s and Nadal’s form was completely different before Paris Novak took the momentum, and raised the level more and more Meanwhile, the Spaniard came up with foot problems so Djokovic thought he would catch up. But Nadal climbed and won another Roland Garros,” McEnroe said.
McEnroe after Nadal’s french open win said, “Nadal talked about not playing Wimbledon. Why wouldn’t he play Wimbledon if he won the Australian Open and Roland Garros? He could win another Grand Slam, we’ll see when he does,”.
