Spanish Superstar Rafael Nadal is surprised by the visit of his baby son and wife Merry to watch his practice session. The 22-time Grand Slam champion is already in Australia to play in the United Cup. This is the first time baby Rafa and Mery are spotted together watching him play. There were speculations that the baby had traveled for the ATP finals in Turin last month but there were no pictures leaked.

Rafael Nadal and Maria Francisca Perella(Mery) got married in 2019 and the couple welcomed their first son on October 8, 2022. Nadal and Mery were in a relationship for a very long time and both are based in Mallorca, Spain.

Nadal will look to retain his Australian Open title after serving his national duties for Spain in the United Cup. 2022 was a very interesting year for Nadal as he bagged his second Australian Open title after 13 years followed by the Roland Garros title. In a year where he also became a father for the first time, Nadal had to deal with an abdomen injury during Wimbledon and the US Open which made the second part of the tennis season a bit tough.

Meanwhile, adorable pictures of Mery and baby Rafa are welcomed sweetly in the tennis communities. Before this, the only time the baby picture was circulated was when the couple and baby were spotted on the beaches of Mallorca.

The Spaniard has already arrived in Australia to start his campaign at the United Cup. He will lead team Spain at the mixed-gender event starting from 29th December to 8th January. Nadal will play alongside Paula Badosa, Pablo Carreno Busta, Marc Lopez, and others whereas World No 1 Carlos Alcaraz will skip the first edition of the tournament.

Rafael Nadal started his 2022 in the best possible way after bagging the Summer Set 1 ATP-250 title in Melbourne. Then in the Australian Open final, at almost 36 years of age, after going down 2 sets and 2-3(0-40) against the best hard court player on the tour & the most recent slam winner (Daniil Medvedev), he went on to win it in 5 sets.

Though the abdomen injury had taken a toll on his body and performance in the second half of the season, Nadal will still be happy for a great first half including a record 14th title in Roland Garros. fans are expecting a fresh and healthy Nadal on the court in 2023.
