There has been a thin air circulating in the skies of Madrid for some time with rumors persisting about the departure of Real Madrid‘s president, Florentino Perez. But just a few days ago, the club already declared these rumors as vague and that fans need not worry about it. Perez joined Madrid as their president way back in 2000 and since then it has just been the start of their golden era yet again.
There were rumours that tennis player Rafael Nadal and F1 veteran driver Fernando Alonso are in the race for the position. Nadal is a very big fan of the club and has been in touch with the club for a long time. Be it supporting them on a Champions League night or spending time with Perez on a holiday, Nadal always finds one way or the other to get associated with the club.
Following this, the club has recently issued an official statement declaring all these social media rumors as false. They posted, “Faced with some rumor that appeared on some social networks in which it is stated that president Florentino Pérez is supposedly considering leaving the presidency of the club, Real Madrid wants to state that these rumors are totally false and obey some interests that have nothing to do with reality.”
How has Florentino Perez taken Real Madrid to the heights in the past two decades?
Since Perez has taken over Real Madrid, the club has reached new heights and peaks. Real who went completely out of the scene in the early 2000s and was falling apart, was fixed after the appointment of Perez. He brought players all over the world spending millions not just to build a great team but also a family that could stand for ages.
He is the reason that the club is where it stands at the moment and it is because of him that that made superstars like Luis Figo, Cristiano Ronaldo, Gareth Bale, David Beckham and so many leave their comfort zone just to come and play for the white glitterati.
Handling the budget efficiently, installing various equipments for players to develop, enlarging the stadium, etc. Perez has completely changed the complexion of the club and with very likely be remembered as the most successful president in the history of Madrid.
