Rafael Nadal shockingly dismisses Roger Federer and claims that Novak Djokovic is his ‘GREATEST’ rival ahead of the ATP Finals

22-time Grand Slam champion Rafael Nadal recently claimed that Novak Djokovic is his biggest rival ever and in doing so, dismissed Roger Federer. Nadal and Djokovic have the biggest Head-to-Head record in tennis history. They have played each other 59 times while Nadal and Federer have played each other 40 times.

Federer has always claimed that Nadal was his greatest rival and for the majority of his career, Nadal reciprocated the feelings until now. In a recent interview with ge in Turin, Nadal declared that Djokovic is his greatest rival because he is closest to the number of majors he has won. Djokovic is just one Grand Slam shy of equalling Nadal’s record of 22 major titles.

“My greatest rival is Novak Djokovic. After all, he is the one who is closest to the number of Grand Slams, with 21. And for all the times we face each other, for our history. Out of all the active players, my most dangerous rival, without a doubt, is Novak,” Nadal said.

Rafael Nadal eyes his maiden ATP Finals title in Turin

Nadal has arrived in Turin for the ATP Finals next week and will lead the Red Group as the Top seed. He hasn’t even won one year-end championship and will badly want to win his maiden title this year. He expressed his excitement on arrival and said that since Italy is a very close country to him, he is ready to embrace this new experience. He said that he’ll try his best to win this year.

“It’s always great news to be playing the last event of the year. That says that you had a great season, so I’m excited. Italy is a very close country for me. Being in Turin for the first time in my life, it’s a new experience, so I’m very happy for that and I’m looking forward to seeing the stadium and the fans. I’ll try my best as always,” Nadal said.
