Early Life

His father, Sebastian Nadal, was an insurance broker, and his mother, Ana María, was a stay-at-home mom. Rafael is the eldest of the two siblings having a younger sister, María Isabel. Nadal was introduced to the game of tennis at the age of 3 by one of his uncles and tennis coach, Toni Nadal.

Toni was his first-ever coach and when Rafa turned Pro in 2001, Toni was still there. He coached him from 2001 to 2017.
