Jannik Sinner, the man of the month, has his whole country celebrating with him for a fabulous Australian Open run. After a thrilling win, he became only the third Italian man to achieve this feat of winning Major.

Last year, Sinner helped Italy reach a historic Davis Cup win before achieving this milestone in Melbourne. Winning the Australian Open at the age of 22 got the attention of Italy’s Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni. Meeting up with Sinner on a public forum, the PM extended her gratitude to the young Italian who remains as humble as he always is.

As soon as Sinner landed in Italy, he was greeted by the PM in an informal meeting, where the two spoke like friends and joked around. Meloni even showed Sinner snippets of the finals against Daniil Medvedev, who managed a history-creating comeback.

As courteous as he was, Sinner hugged the PM, concluding their meetup. Unhappy with the hugging, many fans took to the Internet to express their disregard towards the Italian.

As there are many controversies revolving around whether Meloni is a fascist, people are unhappy with Sinner hugging her. As the first female Prime minister, Meloni had expressed concerns over her opinions, making the world suspecting that she is a fascist.

It was not long before people came in support of Sinner. It was the former coach of Serena Williams, Rennae Stubbs, who stood in favor of the Australian Open winner.

You will not meet a nicer guy than Jannik Sinner! Whatever your politics or his, this guy is a guy all Italians should be proud of.
