Roger Federer calls Frances Tiafoe ‘annoying’ before choosing Leonardo DiCaprio to play him in his biopic while picking his choices for Djokovic and Nadal

Swiss legend and one of the co-founders of the Laver Cup, Roger Federer has been busy at the ongoing Laver Cup in his time as a guest at present. Federer has been part of a lot of events and many press conferences and one such incident took place when he was interviewed by the very player that beat him in his last-ever tennis match.
Frances Tiafoe who is enjoying time at the ongoing competition having picked up vital points both in doubles and singles matches had the opportunity of questioning the legend. Frances asked Roger about his choice of which artist he would like to pick if a film was made about him in the future. Roger looked really surprised by the question which he never expected to be thrown towards him.
After thinking it out, he chose Leonardo DiCaprio in order to play his biopic and always picked respective actors to play the roles of Novak Djokovic and Rafael Nadal. Federer was later asked by another moderator what he makes of Frances Tiafoe and how he fared as an interviewer. Roger took a dig at the American star saying, “Yeah, he’s annoying.”
How did Roger Federer fare against Frances Tiafoe in the past
Tiafoe had the chance of playing Federer thrice in his career and he had to take the loss in all the matches. In his time as a teenager way back in 2017, young Tiafoe came up against top-seeded Federer in the first round but could barely make the Swiss legend work to his limits. The American eventually lost the match on straight sets by 7-6, 6-3.
Their next meeting came up at the US Open in the same year in the first round and this time Tiafoe battled the great man in a five-set thriller but eventually lost the match by 4-6, 6-2, 6-1, 1-6, 6-4. In the same year, they again faced each other at the Basel Open and Federer won the match easily by 6-1, 6-3. It was at the last game of Federer’s career that Tiafoe finally emerged victorious when he paired up with Jack Sock beating Roger and Nadal at the doubles matchup in the Laver Cup game last year.
