Tennis legend, Boris Becker speaks very highly of the Swiss Maestro, Roger Federer in a podcast recently. The 55-year-old holds the record of the youngest men’s player to win the Wimbledon title. Becker is considered one of the most successful men’s players of all time. He also had a successful tenure as a coach post his retirement. He coached the Serbian star Novak Djokovic and the duo won six Grand Slam titles together.
The German spoke in a podcast recently and talked about Novak’s childhood dream. He also went on to speak highly of the former world No.1, Roger Federer. Becker acknowledged Roger’s contribution to not just tennis but also the sport in general and praised him for all the work he had done.
Speaking in the podcast, Becker said “Roger Federer is the ambassador of sport and not just of tennis. The world has never seen anything like it. You can see footballers, basketball players, and athletes, but none are like Federer, who also grew up in neutral Switzerland. With Federer, everything is perfect and too good to be true.”
Speaking about his contributions to the sport and his succession Becker said “Nothing like this will ever happen in tennis and it is thanks to him that tennis has become a universal sport. Good luck to those who want to succeed him.”

Despite Roger Federer not being the most Grand Slam title winner anymore, he has the most following in this sport. He ruled the 2000s and dominated the sport completely. His game went beyond the boundaries of tennis and many people started watching tennis because of him. He was neither the strongest nor the fastest on the court, yet he had some beautiful shots to his name.
He is known to play a game of beautiful tennis that just is worth watching. Not only his on-court performances but also Roger has a very good character off-court. He is humble and down to earth. He treats everyone equally and maintains healthy relations with all the players. His friendship with Rafael Nadal is a treat to watch. That was one of the main reasons why the entire tennis world mourned his retirement.
