Roger Federer, Rafael Nadal and Novak Djokovic have been three of the biggest names in the history of the sport. Colloquially known as the ‘Big Three’, they have carved a legacy of their own. The way they have impacted the sport and taken it to a different level has been appreciated by many.
However, the rivalry between the three has been debatable. Some are of the opinion that even though they share a competitive mindset on the court, they maintain friendly behavior outside the court.
The relationship between Rafa and Federer has been like two best friends. However, the pair’s relationship with Nole has been up and down. According to an X account named cestlaviemacher, who seems like a fan of the Serb, both Nadal and Federer were very rude and aggressive to Djokovic in his initial years. Besides, he also accused Federer of discrediting Djokovic even after losing to him.
Moreover, in a post shared by Luigi Gatto which praised Rafa for not breaking a racket in anger, the fan retweeted the post with a stern comment.
I prefer some broken racquet than someone who tries so hard to show self-control. And ends in passive-aggressive comments in press conferences or several tics during the match. That's not self-control, that's just repressed frustration and obsessive-compulsive disorder.the fan wrote in the caption of the tweet
Novak Djokovic’s fans lash out at Rafael Nadal and Roger Federer
Owing to the posts, various fans of Djokovic have lashed out at Rafa and Federer. Fans have gone to the extent of saying that Rafa and Federer’s expressions towards their opponents have been fake.
While some other groups of fans have come in support of the other two veteran players.
Keeping the fans and the politics aside, there is no room to disagree about the greatness of the three players. With Federer already retired and Nadal also preparing to bid adieu to the game their era is coming to an end.
