Swiss tennis legend Roger Federer recently surprised tennis and music fans alike by attending British rock band Coldplay’s ‘Music of the Spheres World Tour’ concert in Zurich. That’s not all, Roger was called up on stage to sing along with lead singer Chris Martin as everyone sang ‘Don’t Panic’ by Coldplay.
For the unitiated, the concert is part of Coldplay’s promotion of their ninth and most recent album, ‘Music of the Spheres,’ and its theme revolves around a metaphorical journey that takes the listener into the realm of the unknown, only to return as a wiser person.
Roger Federer is clearly enjoying retirement after an illustrious career. His life after retirement has been as busy as it was when he was still on Tour, if not busier. The Swiss maestro has extended his reach to work on his partnership with ON Running. He has also done active work promoting Swiss tourism with friend and comedian Trevor Noah.
Roger was also very recently the guest of honor at the Halle Open. He was felicitated for winning a record 10 titles at the tournament and bringing the tournament fame.
Roger did make a statement last month that he may not commentate at this year’s Wimbledon. He is, however, sure to make a guest appearance at his favorite Major.

As expected, tennis fans on Twitter were quick to show their excitement at Federer’s cameo during the Coldplay concert. Federer sang along to the song ‘Don’t Panic’ and played the shaker in tune, creating a memorable moment for the audience and viewers worldwide.

It remains to be seen what Federer has in mind for his home tournament in Basel later this year. With this incident, however, it is hard to pinpoint what Roger’s next adventure will be in what has been a very eventful post-retirement.
