Sania Mirza to split with Pakistani cricketer Shoaib Malik after 12 years of marriage: Reports
Sania Mirza and her husband Shoaib Malik - FirstSportz
The former doubles No 1 Sania Mirza has been a major inspiration for India in the sport. She broke a billion hearts when she got married to one of the most famous cricketers in Pakistan, Shoaib Malik in the year 2010. They are one of the most gorgeous couples in the sports fraternity. But as per some latest reports, it seems there is some trouble going on in their marriage of 12 years.
When they both got married, it was quite in the headlines as it was a cross-border marriage and they were from two countries who haven’t had good relations in the past nor have good terms as of now. They both welcomed a son Izhaan Mirza Malik in 2018 and the elated parents shared the good news on their social media accounts. Due to the differences between the countries, both have been living in Dubai and often share their happy moments and their lavish lifestyle on social media.
But it looks like the couple is undergoing a rough patch in their marriage. Recent reports claim that the retired Pakistan cricketer revealed something about the tennis legend on one of the TV shows which may be a reason for the divorce rumors. Upon being asked about her tennis academy’s location, the cricketer replied “I don’t really have proper information about the locations. I have never been to any of the academies.“
Mirza’s Instagram posts where she posted about hard times and broken hearts added some fuel to the rumors. She posted a message with the caption “The moments that get me through the hardest days,” while sharing a cute moment with her 4-year-old son. But there hasn’t been any official confirmation regarding the same either from the couple or from their families.
Sania Mirza’s farewell plans hampered after her withdrawal from US Open citing injury concerns
She announced her withdrawal from the US Open via her Instagram handle where she put a message on her story. Mirza picked up an injury during the Cincinnati Open and as a result, she is now forced to skip the Grand Slam. She had announced her plans of ending her career which lasted 19 years. Sania Mirza talked about the change in retirement plans which could possibly be a hint that she might not retire this season and could make an appearance at the 2023 Australian Open in order to go out from a Grand Slam, a fitting exit for a player of the highest quality.
Sania Mirza has won just one singles title and 43 doubles titles including 3 Grand Slams as she won the Australian Open in 2016 and at Wimbledon and the US Open in 2015. Sania won the French Open in Mixed Doubles in 2012 with compatriot Mahesh Bhupathi but with the absence of Wimbledon, she again missed out on Career Slam while having won the Australian Open in 2009.
