Sara Errani, who is now 36, has the highest number of WTA titles won by an Italian player. The former World No.1 in doubles and top 5 in singles has already conquered the tennis world. She has staggering doubles titles and 9 singles titles.

Sara Errani said, “I don’t have a goal anymore, really”. She further suggested that she wants to keep playing tennis just to enjoy and make good memories. She plans to continue doing so until she no longer can. Sara Errani claimed a spot back into the WTA ranking top 100 after spending over 4 years without making it into the list.

“For three, four years I was around 103, 104,”, said Errani. She expressed that he achieved a ‘personal goal’ of making it back into the top 100. A decade ago she was in her prime and she reached the 2013 French Open finals. She has overcome the difficulties she faced in her career including injuries, the 2017 failed doping test, and much more. She had previously mentioned the struggles of being just 5’5” in the modern era of tennis.

Sara Errani seems to have found the silver lining again as she returns to Rome with a spark in her soul. She will have the chance to make more memories late this week as she faces Anastasia Pavlyuchenkova in the first round. Sara Errani is the last active member of Italy’s golden generation and she is even an Idol to active players like Sara Sorribes Tormo.
