Playing his third tournament of the year, home favorite Novak Djokovic will lead the playing field. He receives a first-round bye along with the other top 4 seeds. He will open his campaign against either Serbian, Laslo Djere, or Hamad Medjedovic in the second round. 7th seed Miomir Kecmanovic will face Richard Gasquet in the opening round with the winner facing either John Millman or 2020 US Open champion Dominic Thiem. Either of the 4 will face Djokovic in the quarterfinal.
Third seed Karen Khachanov will most probably face Mikael Ymer in the second round and is drawn opposite Serbian eighth seed Filip Krajinovic who opens against in-form David Goffin. The winner is likely to face Joao Sousa in the second round. Either Krajinovic or Goffin is projected to play Khachanov in the last 8.
1st Semifinal Prediction: Novak Djokovic vs Karen Khachanov
Bottom Half
Second seed Andrey Rublev will headline the bottom half of the draw and will face either a qualifier or Henri Laaksonen in the second round. The Russian finds himself in a tricky part of the draw and is drawn opposite 5th seed Cristian Garin who faces Holger Rune in the first round. Garin, if he wins, will most likely face Duan Lajovic in the Round of 16 with the winner projected to face Rublev in the quarterfinal.
4th seed Aslan Karatsev will face the winner of the match between Oscar Otte and Alejandro Tabilo and is drawn opposite 6th seeded Fabio Fognini. The Italian will face fellow countryman Marco Cecchinato in the opening round and will face either Aljaz Bedene or Mikhail Kukushkin in the Round of 16. Karatsev and Fognini are expected to meet in the quarterfinals.
2nd Semifinal Prediction: Aslan Karatsev vs Andrey Rublev
Semifinals
Top seed Novak Djokovic will play Karen Khachanov in the first semifinal. The Serb is the overwhelming favorite to win his home tournament and hence should fancy his chances to go all the way. Clearing the semifinal hurdle shouldn’t be a problem for him.
In the second semifinal, Aslan Karatsev will be up against Andrey Rublev. Both Karatsev and Rublev are teammates and are well versed in each other’s game. Karatsev will have a defensive edge but with his power play, Rublev will enter as the favorite to enter the final.

Final
In the 2022 Serbia Open Final, Novak Djokovic will lock horns against Andrey Rublev. The match is expected to be a thriller given the level at which both players operate. Djokovic will still be the favorite and the home support will be in his favor too. Expect Djokovic to win his maiden season title in Belgrade.
