The retired tennis legend Serena Wiliams and former World No.1 Naomi Osaka are dethroned from the top spots of being the most endorsed female athlete. The new topper is one of the All-time Greats of women’s soccer Alex Morgan. The American star has 120 goals from 201 appearances for the United States and is a FIFA world cup winner and Olympic gold medalist.
Sponsor United is the platform that ranks the most endorsed player list every year. According to them, Morgan has 27 brand deals as of now. This is more than any other woman in any sport. The CEO of the platform Bob Lynch opined about women’s sports in general, “While Women’s sports have always faced a variety of disparities in the industry, their ability to win over audiences and drive an exceptionally high level of engagement for brands is undeniable.”
Continuing his speech while announcing the results, Bob Lynch added, “In recent years, attendance, viewership and social engagement for women’s sports and athletes has spiked, leading to long-overdue financial backing through investments and sponsorships that are visibly paying off and should only continue to accelerate.” (Source: Tennis World USA)
