The tennis world is gushing over the pictures of Serena Williams and her brand new bump she flaunted at the Met Gala, revealing her second pregnancy. Serena Williams, who has quietly been away from cameras for the past few months, used the glamorous event to share the big news. In her Instagram post, she thanked Vogue editor-in-chief Anna Wintour for inviting ‘the 3 of them’, her husband, herself, and her unborn child.

This announcement was like taking a leaf out of Rihanna‘s book. Rihanna also declared her pregnancy earlier this year at a Met event too. She performed at the recent Super Bowl while showing her baby bump off to the world. Serena Williams is a huge fan of Rihanna. Serena’s Met Gala look got a lot of interest, good and bad. But the star of the whole look was the bump. The tennis world went into a frenzy as she announced this. Some of the fans perhaps were hoping to see the ex-world no. 1 make a comeback on the court soon. But they will have to wait.

Though if one snoops through Serena Williams‘ Instagram from few days back, she posted a picture of her husband Alexis Ohanian, and her, where she captioned it ‘Papa ❤️’. Maybe this was also hinted at her second pregnancy, but anyway, the cat is out of the bag.

Serena Williams and Roger Federer created waves at the Met Gala this year

Serena Williams was not the only big name from tennis at the Met Gala this year. Roger Federer was one of the co-hosts of the events. Roger has been splashing into a variety of things post-retirement. Ranging from investing in a sports brand called On Running to announcing an eye-wear chain set to launch next year. Acting in long videos to promote Swiss Tourism to hosting the Met Gala, one can say ex-world no. 1 Federer is getting in touch with his creative side.

While Serena Williams made noise with her pregnancy announcement, Roger Federer arrived in style at the event with his wife Mirka Federer. The couple, too, looked like a million bucks as they posed for pictures together. Federer wore a sharp Dior tuxedo whereas Mirka donned Karl Lagerfeld’s (which was the theme of the event) accessories.
