The 23-time Grand Slam champion retired from professional tennis after losing her third-round match to Ajla Tomljanovic at the US Open 2022 last September. Since then, Serena is busy promoting her new business ventures as well as giving interviews. She was also honored by the National Portrait Gallery in the USA and The Embassy of the United States in Argentina for designing her mural.

She is loving her relaxed post-retirement life and spending time with family and friends. However, now and then, she keeps dropping hints on her possible return to professional tennis. Many tennis players are divided over her possible return. While Tommy Haas and Naomi Osaka think Serena Williams can return to the sport, her good friend Caroline Wozniacki disagrees.

Meanwhile, her former coach Patrick Mouratoglou has also voiced his views.

Do I want to see her play? I want to see her play again. Yes, yes, if she enjoys herself on the court. For that, she has to feel strong. If she doesn’t feel strong, she won’t enjoy herself. I want to see her play good tennis. If she can play good tennis, of course, I want to see her play. Everyone wants to see her play,” he said in an interview with EuroSport.

This debate over her possible return will continue. Only the American tennis legend knows whether she will make a comeback or not. She can get inspired by her elder sister Venus Williams, who at 42 years is still willing to compete in Grand Slams. For the time being, Serena is happy to make forays into multiple businesses.
