Mental health has always been a serious issue around the world. Many celebrities, athletes, and others are coming out to shed light on their mental health problems, and a few have also been sharing their thoughts on how they came out of it.
Serena Williams, the iconic American tennis player who has always been a victim of mental health problems, recently shared a cryptic message on her X (previously known as Twitter) account.
The message from the former World No. 1 spread light that it’s okay to not be okay and that there is always a tomorrow to look forward to.
I am not ok today. And that’s ok to not be ok. No one is ok every single day. If you are not ok today I’m with you. There’s always tomorrow. Love you.Williams wrote on X.
William’s post received immense love from her followers. They replied with positive messages of motivation for the former world champion. Previously, Williams had spoken about her mental health issues during the birth of her first child, Olympia.
With that being said, it seems like Williams is trying to spread awareness about mental health struggles and how it is okay to have bad days. Even one of the most celebrated former tennis professionals is currently having one of those dull days.
Serena Williams shares a comforting message following the vulnerable post
After a cryptic post, Serena Williams further shared a comforting post on her Twitter account. The day after she shares that she isn’t doing okay, the former World No. 1 shares a comforting picture with her newborn daughter, Adira.
In the post captioned “This makes me so happy,” the tennis icon is seen hugging her newborn child. The 42-year-old has also been known to spread awareness about mental health, being a victim herself.
During the birth of her first child, Olympia, Serena faced a near-death experience where she had breakdowns often. This kept the athlete in bed for the next 6 weeks, and after that, the post-stress trauma kicked in.
Last year, she opened up about her struggles in an interview with Selena Gomez. She spoke about her mental struggles and how one should always prioritize their mental health over anything else.
It was more just like, alright, I'm shutting myself down today. Just subconsciously, it was something I've always done.Said the former World No. 1
Many athletes are now giving themselves ample time to focus on their mental health, which has helped them focus better in future games, and it is advisable for all to give time to themselves and their mental health.
