Former World No. 1 Serena Williams‘ rise as an entrepreneur continues. Ever since she stepped away from the tennis courts following her exit from the 2022 US Open, she has devoted more of her time to her off-court ventures.
Williams had started business ventures very early in her playing days. As she started rising in rankings and having the great storyline of coming from limited means to dominating on the Tour, the American along with elder sis Venus Williams were hot properties for the brands.
As both escalated in their careers, Serena more than Venus, their brand images, and endorsement deals skyrocketed. The 23-time Major winner split her portfolio in various fields. She founded and started her venture capitalist fund, Serena Ventures, that has diversified its investments in nearly 50+ fields.
Now a mother of two, the superwoman recently took to her Instagram to share a note on her journey as an entrepreneur. She specifically talked about Serena Ventures as the company strives to help women entrepreneurs and also early-stage startups working to bring positive changes in daily life.
Williams talked about the long working hours she has to put in and her passion for helping other women. It’s remarkable to note how she has been juggling the business side along with her mom duties. While her elder daughter Olympia is nearly seven years old now, the newborn Adira still occupies much of her time.
Being an entrepreneur is not always easy. My days often begin at the break of dawn and extend well into the night. But in the end, I love reinventing myself in different and authentic ways. Transitioning from a tennis player to a venture capitalist has allowed me to pursue my passion for investing in women.Wrote Williams.
It’s important to invest in us and not be afraid to showcase our stories and businesses. I have some exciting things coming soon so you have to stay tuned. I would love to hear your entrepreneurial stories. Please share!Added the former World No. 1.
