The 2023 Met Gala was an event where the fans saw their favorite stars sport a varied mix of fashions. While a few of the fashion sense on the show were praised, the other half had to face a bit of slack as fans weren’t really impressed with what they saw. Serena Williams and her stylist were unfortunate victims of the criticism this time around.
The tennis world was a place of joy as soon as Williams announced the pregnancy with her husband Alexis Ohanian. This is going to be the 41-year-old’s second child. She gave birth to her first child in 2017 when she had taken a break from the tour after winning the Aussie Open that year. However, a part of this joyful news was soon diluted as fans turned their attention to her outfit.
In the images and videos that are circulating, one can see the 23-time Grand Slam champion wearing a black dress. It features angular rhinestone trim on the hem and billowing sheer pleated sleeves that hang around her arms. The bottom of the dress fans out into an opulent white tulle skirt that follows behind her. Certainly, an unusual look and the Twitter world wasn’t impressed.
Serena‘s dress also features a plunging bedazzled collar which highlights her cleavage. Though it is covered with multiple pearl strands that cover her throat. She is also seen wearing a regal jeweled headband and is swept back in a blond bob.
