Serena Williams’ unexplained absence from Wimbledon’s Centenary celebrations revealed
Serena Williams, Champions present at parade
The Wimbledon 2022 parade of champions was a glorious event where the past champions alongside the current legends of the game appeared together for the celebration of 100 years of the center court of Wimbledon. The champions from the 1960s including Angela Mortimer, Ann Jones, and Billie Jean King were also present. The whole gathering of champions ranged from Stan Smith, Bjorn Borg, and John McEnroe to Chris Evert, Venus Williams, Simona Halep, Angelique Kerber, and Petra Kvitova to Andy Murray, Rafael Nadal, Novak Djokovic, and Roger Federer.
There were also many notable absentees including the legendary Boris Becker, who is serving prison time in the fraud case. Martina Navratilova, Wimbledon’s most decorated champion, who had won the title a whopping nine times was gutted to be absent from the parade as she came down with CoVID. The absence which was highlighted the most was of Serena Williams, the seven-time Wimbledon champion, who played in the first round of Wimbledon 2022 but was not present for the centenary celebration of the center court.

Furthermore, the issue was stretched even more because she was present in London for her Wimbledon 2022 appearance. The main reason being revealed for her absence was that she had left the city before. As per a tweet by Martina Navratilova:
