Bulgarian tennis player Grigor Dimitrov is in substantial form. The 32-year-old stunned top seed, Carlos Alcaraz, ousting him from the tournament in his Round of 16 match today. His latest victory might be one of his best wins on-court this season. In a thrilling three-setter, Dimitrov gave Alcaraz a tough fight in the first set but ended up losing the set. However, he made a comeback in the following sets, ultimately winning the round with a 5-7, 6-2, 6-4 victory. On Monday, Dimitrov beat 13th seed, Karen Khachanov in straight sets.

On the other hand, Nicolas Jarry beat Argentinian tennis professional, Diego Schwartzman, in their Round of 16 match yesterday. The 28-year-old demolished his opponent with a score of 6-3, 5-7, 6-3 over three sets. Jarry beat Italian player Lorenzo Sonego in straight sets in the second round of the tournament.

Dimitrov and Chile’s Nicolas Jarry have clashed on two previous occasions. Their latest face-off was at the finals of the Open in Geneva earlier this year. Jarry leads in the duo’s head-to-head with a 2-0 win count over the Bulgarian.
