Doping cases are not being taken lightly by the tennis federation. They recently issued a 4-year ban on Romanian tennis player Simona Halep after she was found with a foreign substance in her body at the 2022 US Open.

Over the past year, Halep has been trying to prove herself innocent, and when her former coach Patrick Mouratoglou took responsibility for providing her with the collagen, the whole tennis community came in support of the Romanian. The career of the 32-year-old was at major risk but luckily she got herself a chance to plead her case in front of the court and possibly win it. In a recent interview on Euronews Romania, the 2 time Grand Slam winner talks about the split op with her coach and how she stopped speaking with him after a couple of months.

Simona Halep said, on Euronews Romania:

My trust is broken a little bit right now. In the future, I don’t know how it’s going to be.. if I can trust again. I probably have to learn. Because this is my principle in life. If you hire somebody & you work with that person, you have to trust.

After the Frenchman spoke out to the world, Halep revealed that she had lost all her trust in her team and it’s been a couple of months since she last spoke to Mouratoglou. She strongly believed in her principle of trusting someone who she works with and after this incident, she is unsure if she can trust anyone in the future.

Simona Halep’s career is at risk, likely to drag her coach in her defense

The Romanian tennis star Simona Halep’s incredible record including 2 Grand Slams is at complete risk as she has to plead her case in front of the CAS, and if found guilty, she would have to face a 4 year ban almost ending her career. However, there is still hope for the former world number 1 as she can use her ex-coach Patrick Mouratogolu in her defense and make him admit the same in front of the court.

While Halep has no choice but to miss the Australian Open, she is rather hopeful to make it back before the Paris Olympics and is eager to represent her country possibly for one last time.

With every passing day, the Romanian revealed to feel painful and full of emotions every day. It was difficult for a player who was completely against doping to be tested positive on the same. However, she has managed to fight through her emotions and is now back in court, trying to prepare herself if she is cleared of the ban.
