The 2024 Australian Open recorded another withdrawal from their list of players as Rafael Nadal pulled out a week before the tournament.
Recently, he admitted to feeling a sense of pain near his injured area after a hard-fought loss against Jordan Thompson.
In the post-match interview after the match, the Spaniard gave details on his injury and left his fans hanging as he needed to wait for the test results.
To the despair of fans, the results were not in the favor of the Spaniard, who suffered a micro tear on a muscle. He has withdrawn from the Australian Tournament but vouched to return in a few months, having been completely ready.
Following the news, there was a tsunami of reactions from the fans. While many wished the 37-year-old a speedy recovery, others trolled the ‘King of Clay’, comparing him to the ‘GOAT’ Novak Djokovic.

What many did not know was that the 36-year-old played and won the tournament with a 3 cm muscle tear on his left hamstring. Despite the hamstring injury, not much was disclosed about it and the World No.1 continued on his business of winning titles and Slams.

Nadal, on the other hand, withdrew from the tournament, allowing fans to compare and criticize him. History repeated for the Spaniard as he got injured in Australia but luckily it is a small one and in no time we will see him back on court.
