Stefanos Tsitsipas‘ mother Yulia Salnikov has revealed that the relationship between her son and Daniil Medvedev is far better than what people think. This is a startling revelation, different from what fans remember of Medvedev and Tsitsipas at the 2022 Australian Open and 2023 Italian Open.

The duo’s fierce rivalry on and off the court became public after Medvedev accused Tsitsipas of receiving illegal coaching from his father during the 2022 Australian Open. The rivalry then progressed last year in May, when the duo had a stern exchange when they faced each other at the 2023 Italian Open.

In 2019, Tsitsipas told the media that despite their chemistry, he would never have dinner with the Russian. That created a mighty gulf between the duo despite both players being fluent in the Russian language which hasn’t helped to calm their feud.

However, the Greek ace’s mother doesn’t see it that way, as she claims they both send messages to each other.

Normal. Probably even better than many people think. My husband and I are friends with his parents. We write messages to each other, congratulations, everything is very touching. Let them decide for themselves what kind of relationship Medvedev has with Tsitsipas.

In a recent clip at the Indian Wells, Medvedev and Tsitsipas were both training together. Perhaps, both player parents have done their part to ameliorate the feud.

Paula Badosa withdraws from Indian Wells after partnering with Tsitsipas mixed doubles

Just a day after playing mixed doubles with boyfriend Stefanos Tsitsipas at the Eisenhower Cup, Paula Badosa has pulled out of the Indian Wells tournament due to injury concerns.

The Spaniard, who had endured a prolonged sideline due to injury last year, has struggled to hit form this season. The Spaniard was scheduled to play Ashlyn Krueger in the first round of the BNP Paribas Open, but withdrew just moments before the match.

Badosa made the disappointment known on her Instagram Story, stating that her ongoing struggle with injuries prevented her from competing at Indian Wells.

So sorry I have to withdraw from my favorite tournament. I tried everything to be able to play but wasn't enough. I'm having a very difficult time with my injury but I'm fighting every day to come back as soon as possible.
Badosa wrote on her Instagram account

Meanwhile, Badosa and Tsitsipas defeated Iga Swiatek and Hubert Hurkacz before losing to Ben Shelton and Emma Navarro 8-10 in the final of the Eisenhower Cup at the Indian Wells Tennis Garden.
