World number five Stefanos Tsitsipas opened up about his relationship with fellow tennis star Paula Badosa. The two have taken the tennis world by storm with their public display of affection online. They have even created a joint Instagram account called ‘Tsitsidosa’ and shared pictures of their Dubai vacation.
The rumors surrounding their relationship started when both changed their Spotify profile pictures with selfies together. Then the two were involved in expressing their love for each other via social media posts. Though fans welcomed the tennis world’s new couple, they particularly wanted to hear an open declaration from both of them.
“I feel happy and content. I haven’t really felt that type of connection with anyone before,” the Greek told Eurosport after being asked about fans’ reactions. “I don’t mean to sound cringe or anything because that’s the reality and that’s what I am faced with. I am extremely blessed and happy that time came at this phase of my life.”
“I have been interested in her mind more than anything else. Of course, there is an attraction but it’s also sometimes just a soul interaction and getting to fall in love with her mind,” he added. Tsitsipas later claimed that it’s rare when both share the same identity, lifestyle, desires, passions, and ambitions.
Stefanos Tsitsipas is participating in Halle Open
Stefanos Tsitsipas, after the semi-final loss to Carlos Alcaraz at the 2023 French Open, played in Stuttgart Open but he fell to Richard Gasquet in the Round of 16. He then participated in the Halle Open which is currently underway.
The Greek defeated Gregoire Barrere in three sets 6-7(6-8), 6-4, 7-6(7-3) in the Round of 32. He will face Nicolas Jarry in the next round.
Tsitsipas and Jarry have previously met twice with both winning each, so their head-to-head stand is at 1-1. Their recent meeting was at the 2023 Monte-Carlo Masters where Tsitsipas pulled off a win. Their first meeting was on the grass court of Rosmalen in 2019.
Paula Badosa, on the other hand, withdrew from the French Open after suffering a stress fracture in her spine. She picked up the injury during the Italian Open and on her social media post, she revealed that she will need some weeks to get back on court fully fit.
