2019 ATP Finals winner Stefanos Tsitsipas began his conquest for a second ATP Finals title on Sunday against World No. 4 Jannik Sinner. He was put on a tough test against the Italian local boy, who completely destroyed the Greek star without any trouble whatsoever.
Tsitsipas eventually lost the match on straight sets by a scoreline of 6-4, 6-4, and had a lot of say after the game. After the match, the Greek star talked about how uncertain the competition was and that anyone could end up beating anyone on this grand stage.

He further stressed the fact that players should not take him lightly by any means and that he can still bounce back even after losing his first group stage match.
That's the beauty of Nitto ATP Finals; it's not over until it's really over. You can always re-bounce and you can always come back.Tsitsipas said via ATP Tours
He further added:
It's a good format. It allows for great competition and for some good comebacks that we don't really see in the sport because our tour is based on knockout rounds, a single opportunity in every tournament.
Tsitsipas will take on Holger Rune in his second group stage matchup on Tuesday, who is also back from a loss in his first match against Novak Djokovic.
Stefanos Tsitsipas talks about the value of ATP Finals
Stefanos Tsitsipas talked about the amount of growth he seeks in himself by participating in the ongoing ATP Finals. He revealed how he wants to go the distance and that he is really looking to come out with a positive result at the end of the competition. He added:
I see this tournament for me also as an opportunity for me to grow my game through maybe bigger risks.

He added:
Why not? It's a great tournament and I really want to do well here.
That’s not all; Tsitsipas further talked about how he loves playing on these types of courts, as he feels best settled on fast surfaces. Continuing his train of thought, he added:
I enjoy playing in fast surfaces much more now than I did years ago. I think my tennis suits fast surfaces way more than it did slower. My shots are big. I can hit big shots.
Notably, the loss came right after the tennis player’s recent comment on the ATP Finals being “bigger” than Grand Slams. Just ahead of the ATP Finals, which start later this week on Sunday, Tsitsipas has sparked a very big commotion among the tennis community. He provided a statement recently stating that he finds more pleasure in winning the ATP Finals than any other Grand Slam or Masters title.
