Stefanos Tsitsipas uses Nick Kyrgios’ tattoo in the latest post, takes a new dig against the player and chair umpire at Wimbledon
Stefanos Tsitsipas
World No. 5 Stefanos Tsitsipas had to suffer a 4-set defeat in the third round of the 2022 Wimbledon Championships against Nick Kyrgios making yet another early exit from the Grand Slam. Stef’s best result remains his 4th round run in 2018 and since then has not been able to match it again after suffering first-round exits in 2019 and 2021.
It was a fired-up clash between the two players with Stef left visibly frustrated during the match. Stef was the first one to draw the blood by clinching the first set winning the tiebreaker. Kyrgios did not allow Stef to return into the match again as he closed out the match in a crunch 4th set tiebreaker.
Stefanos Tsitsipas posts pictures of argument with the umpire, hints at biased umpiring
In a controversy-embroiled match, Stef was found hitting his ball into the spectators and also aiming his shots directly at Nick’s body. Nick had a clean display in terms of actions and behaviour on the court apart from asking the officials to come and explain how is Stef not defaulted after hitting the ball into the crowd, recalling Novak Djokovic‘s default at the US Open.
As per Stef, Nick was rallying up the crowd against him and was ‘bullying‘ Stef. With back-and-forth reply between the two after the match as well, Tsistipas took to his Instagram in his latest jibe at the Australian and the umpires at Wimbledon. “Give a man a mask and he will become his true self,” wrote Stef in his latest Instagram post.
The text is also the latest tattoo Nick Kyrgios got on his leg which was first seen during the Grass season this year and given the match that was played between the two, it is safe to assume Stef did not look on the internet for a caption in his latest post.
