Men’s Singles Draw Preview
Top Half
French Open runner-up Casper Ruud will headline the top half of the draw and gets a first-round bye along with the other top 4 seeds. He will face either Jiri Lehecka or Thomas Martin Etcheverry in the second round. He is drawn opposite 8th seed Joao Sousa who will face Alexander Ritschard in the first round. In an All-Spaniard opening round battle, Jaume Munar will face Bernabe Zapata Miralles with the winner facing Sousa in the opening round.
4th seed Albert Ramos-Vinolas will take on the winner of the All-Swiss battle between Dominik Stricker and Marc-Andrea Huesler. Meanwhile, 6th seed Cristian Garin will face a qualifier in the first round and will expectedly then lock horns against Thiago Monteiro. Garin and Ramos-Vinolas are drawn to meet in the quarterfinal.
1st Semifinal Prediction: Casper Ruud vs Cristian Garin
Bottom Half
Second seed Matteo Berrettini, who is playing for the first time after testing positive for Covid at Wimbledon, will headline the bottom half of the draw. He will face Richard Gasquet or Roberto Carballes Baena in the Round of 16 and is drawn opposite 5th seed, Pedro Martinez. He faces Carlos Taberner in the opening round with the winner facing Benoit Paire or a qualifier in the Round of 16.
Third seed Roberto Bautista Agut is expected to face Lorenzo Sonego in a thrilling second-round clash. Sonego will face a qualifier in the first round. 7th seed Hugo Gaston will open against former World No.3 Dominic Thiem. The winner of this match will face either Federico Delbonis or Mikael Ymer in the Round of 16. Berrettini is expected to meet either Thiem or Gaston in the quarterfinals.
2nd Semifinal Prediction: Roberto Bautista Agut vs Matteo Berrettini
Semifinals
In the first semifinal, Casper Ruud will be up against Cristian Garin. Both the players have a very solid clay-court game but Ruud will still go in as the favorite. He has done pretty well on clay this season and would definitely want to end it on a high too.
Third seed Roberto Bautista Agut will lock horns against second seed Matteo Berrettini. The Italian has had his share of bad luck this season but has had good results on the court. He was on a 9-match winning streak at the start of this tournament and is expected to extend it.

Final
The two highest ranked players of the tournament- Casper Ruud and Matteo Berrettini will meet in the final of the Swiss Open. Ruud is the defending champion and plays well on clay but Berrettini himself has a very solid forehand and a good movement on clay. Expect a thrilling match with Berrettini winning a third consecutive title.
