America’s number-one male tennis player at the moment, Taylor Fritz, opens up about how hard or tough it was for him to become a father at the age of just 19. He had a son with his now-divorced wife and tennis player, Raquel Pedraza. The couple married each other way back in 2017, and after two years they split, with Fritz taking ownership of his son right from that very moment.

Being a single father until 2020, he had to play tennis as well as look after his son simultaneously. He now has a girlfriend, Morgan Riddle who looks after his son alongside him allowing Fritz to play his tennis in peace. But Fritz shared his situation back in 2019 when he learned how to manage time so that he could be with his young kid and also how to inculcate the right values into his own self-right from a very young age.

He said, “I think [having a kid] taught me a lot of lessons about time management. I have to juggle all these different things. It also taught me to not care so much about other people’s opinions. There was a lot of talk when I was younger. I was always very concerned about how my career would be affected, the things people were saying, and things of that nature.”

Taylor Fritz has been consistently staying in the ATP top 10 rankings for quite some time now. Despite not being able to win any ATP 1000 titles this year, he has already stacked up two titles, one at the Delray Beach Open and the other at the Atlanta Open. At the Delray Beach Open, which happened way back in February, he beat players such as Emilio Gomez, Adrian Mannarino, Mackenzie McDonald, and ultimately Miomir Kecmanovic in the finals.

Recently playing at the Atlanta Open, he beat the likes of Wu Yibing, Kei Nishikori, J.J. Wolf, and Aleksandar Vukic. Apart from this, he also made it to the semi-finals of the Dallas Open, Mexican Open, Monte-Carlo Masters, Bavarian International, Geneva Open, and the recently played Citi Open.

Having made it to the last stages of more or less every single tournament he has played in, he would be determined to do something special at the upcoming US Open in front of his home crowd.
