Iga Swiatek has often talked about the importance of hiring a sports psychologist. She herself has been working with her psychologist Daria Abramowicz since 2019 when the tennis ace was 17 years old.
But recently, Abramowicz was slammed on Twitter after fans heard a confusing conversation between her and the Pole. In a now-viral video clip of the second season of Netflix’s docu-series ‘Break Point’, Swiatek could be seen in a salon getting a haircut.
When the hairdresser asked her the length she wants to cut, Abramowicz, who was also present in the salon interrupted, saying Swiatek should keep long hair as she can tie it up better during matches. “We just have to make sure that she is able to tie it back up,” Abramowicz said in that clip.
But Swiatek in her reply said that she has already sacrificed a lot for tennis so she wants to choose which haircut she wants. “I refuse to sacrifice my hair for the sport when everything else is,” came Swiatek’s reply.

Daria Abramowicz slammed on Twitter for interfering in everything Iga Swiatek does
Fans were perplexed to see what role Daria Abramowicz can have inside a salon giving advice to Iga Swiatek about which hairstyle she prefers. Abramowicz was also called out for not having respect for psychology ethics by making her presence felt wherever Swiatek goes.
Some fans even urged the 22-year-old to get a friend, manager, or an agent to do her things alone because seeing Abramowicz’s content gives them “creepy” vibes. Other fans pointed out that Abramowicz’s controlling Swiatek is “scary”, asserting that there should be a professional boundary. A fan also feared that Swiatek might end up like Naomi Osaka if she persisted with Abramowicz.
Meanwhile, the second season of Break Point’s docu-series features stories regarding the second half of the WTA and ATP Tour. Swiatek made appearances in the series because that year, she had won the 2022 French Open and the US Open as well as reached the top spot in the WTA rankings.
After winning her fourth Grand Slam (and third French Open) title, Iga Swiatek is preparing for the grass court season. She is set to play in the Bad Homburg Open in Germany before the all-important Wimbledon Championships. As the three-time Roland Garros champion has struggled a lot on grass courts, it will be interesting to watch how she progresses on the surface.
