Joe Biden pays homage to retiring Serena Williams

Serena Williams recently announced that she would be retiring after competing at the ongoing US Open, the American icon started her campaign in an excellent manner as she breezed past Danka Kovinic and Anett Kontaveit in the first two rounds of the tournament. Williams was bested by Ajla Tomljanovic in the third round of the event

Many huge names paid their tributes to the retiring Serena Williams, and even US president Joe Biden took to Twitter to congratulate Serena on a wonderful career, he wrote, “Serena Williams, you’re an inspiration, a champion of all time. Thank you for dreaming, daring, and proving that anything is possible.“

Many athletes and stars from different industries came forward to congratulate Serena on a wonderful career as she is regarded as the GOAT of the sport by almost everyone who understands the weight of her achievements both on and off the court. The American professional received a huge reception from New York as she competed in her farewell tournament.

Her opponents had a hard time defeating Serena as she had the whole stadium backing her at every point but Ajla Tomljanovic had a plan and defeated Williams in three sets, ending her career as she pulled the curtains on a wonderful journey filled with glory and titles.
