Rafael Nadal is without a doubt one of the best players in tennis history. He has won 22 grand slam titles to his name- the highest in men’s tennis and is also considered as mentally the toughest athlete in all sports. Currently, Nadal is in recovery from an injury he suffered at Wimbledon as a result of which he had to withdraw from his semifinal match against Nick Kyrgios.

Nadal started the 2022 season with a bang where he won three back-to-back titles including his second Australian Open title. And against all odds, he won his 14th Roland Garros title by beating Casper Ruud in the final. But despite winning 4 titles this season, he has had a lot of injury issues throughout the season.

He suffered a hairline rib fracture during the Indian Wells Masters and had a foot issue throughout the French Open. To make matters worst, when things seemed to be under control, Nadal suffered an abdomen tear at Wimbledon. But despite all discomfort, Nadal managed to win his quarterfinal against Taylor Fritz on centre court which shows his mental greatness.
