Carlos Alcaraz, the 19-year-old Spanish professional has made quite a name for himself this year, he has established himself as one of the best youngsters in the world and is already one of the best players in the world as well. Currently ranked world number 4, Carlos Alcaraz has cemented his position as one of the world’s elites.
Alcaraz had an inconsistent performance for his North American swing, the Spaniard was eliminated in the first round of the Canadian Open and he managed to reach the quarter-finals of the Cincinnati Masters event but he was eliminated by British professional Cameron Norrie. Alcaraz has been putting in excellent performances at the ongoing US Open.

Currently competing at the US Open, 19-year-old Carlos Alcaraz has stood up to people’s expectations as he continues to display excellent performances every match, the Spaniard has managed to reach the semi-final stages of the tournament after defeating Jannik Sinner in one of the best matches of the year.
After winning the first set, Alcaraz lost the next two sets to Italian rival Jannik Sinner who has previously defeated him twice this year, Alcaraz was not ready for a third defeat as he made the comeback by winning the next two sets and the match ended with a score of 6-3, 6-7(7), 6-7(0), 7-5, 6-3.
In a truly thrilling match that made history, it was the second longest match in US Open history which ended at 2:50 am in the morning as Alcaraz books his place in the semi-finals of the tournament. Fans took to Twitter to express their feeling over this truly thrilling encounter that scripted history.
It will be a match to remember as both the players were evenly matched for the majority of the match but the Spaniard outlasted Sinner in their third meeting this year, Alcaraz will be going up against American professional Frances Tiafoe in the next round and will be looking to book a place in the finals of the tournament.
