Anett Kontaveit while releasing her statement in the press conference quoted “I’m just going to take it as a unique experience. I’m not sure if I’ll ever experience something like this again. I think it’s a special moment for her.” With Serena Williams inevitable retirement, Kontaveit appreciated the American’s final run at professional tennis matches.

“She hits the ball really hard, and she has such great hands so she can direct it anywhere,” said Kontaveit. “I’ll just have to be ready for really hard-hitting, some heavy serving. Just play very consistently and fight very hard, play a consistent match. I think that’s how I’m going to approach it,” said the 26-year-old Estonian on her outlook for the upcoming match.

Anett, who is the highest ranked Estonian player in history, cherishes her clash with ‘The Queen of Tennis’ at the US Open when she culminated her statements by saying “I’m going to fight as hard as I can for every point. I’m going to enjoy the atmosphere of being out there against the greatest player of all time. I think it’s such a great opportunity. I’m excited, really looking forward to it.”

Kontaveit’s best performance this year was witnessed at the Australian Open where she dashed in the quarter-final round of the slam and holds the highest achieved rank of 95 in doubles.
